On 17 June 2026, Kaizenkodo AS — together with Kunnskapsparken Helgeland (KPH) and the Arctic Cluster Team (ACT) — held an in-person workshop on local AI at the Tech Lab of Campus Helgeland in Mo i Rana. The event was part of an ongoing series designed to help companies in Northern Norway explore and adopt practical local-AI solutions.

From key concepts to live demos

Following the well-received February webinar, this hands-on session gave participants deeper practical experience. Igor from Kaizenkodo guided the group through the key concepts of local AI — models, quantization, inference speed, RAG, and agentic workflows — before moving straight into live demonstrations on real hardware:

  • Structured data extraction — turning an unstructured invoice into clean, verifiable JSON output.
  • Agent-based project development — using a lightweight coding agent to autonomously build a complete mini “energy monitor” application: code structure, sample-data handling, visualization, and iterative improvements based on feedback.

All demonstrations ran locally on an NVIDIA RTX A6000 (48 GB) using strong open-source models. Participants saw first-hand how local AI performs in practice, how quickly it can generate and refine complex code, and how verification steps can be built into the workflow to reduce hallucinations.

Use cases close to home

The workshop also featured open discussion on real-world use cases relevant to the region — cybersecurity-sensitive environments, batch-processing jobs, document handling, and integrating local AI into existing company workflows without sending data to external cloud providers.

Feedback was very positive. Attendees valued the balance of theory and live practice, and the chance to ask detailed questions about hardware requirements, model selection, and how to get started with local setups on both workstations and servers.

This in-person workshop is the latest event in the successful collaboration between Kaizenkodo, Kunnskapsparken Helgeland, and the Arctic Cluster Team, with more activities in the series planned for the coming months. Kaizenkodo continues to support companies in Northern Norway with secure, high-performance local AI that keeps data fully under their control.
